Ernie Diaz is the Head of Consumer Distribution for TD Bank, America's Most Convenient Bank®. In this role, he is responsible for leading our consumer distribution network across the footprint – in stores, online, mobile, and ATM.  He also leads TD Wealth in the U.S.  

Ernie’s banking career spans more than 33 years. Ernie was most recently Regional President for TD Bank in Florida. In that role, he was responsible for providing strategic direction and sales leadership to TD Bank’s Florida retail, small business, commercial and specialty banking operations and lending services throughout a network of more than 155 stores. Under his leadership, the Florida Market took home J.D. Power trophies for Retail Banking Satisfaction in 2013 and 2016 and Small Business Banking (in the South Region) in 2017.  

Prior to his role as Regional President, he served as Market President for TD Bank in South Florida, and three years at TD Bank’s predecessor, The South Financial Group, where he served as President of the Florida franchise, Mercantile Bank. His experience also includes serving as Middle Market Executive for South Florida at Regions Bank, commercial real estate team lead at Regions Bank, and positions at Terrabank, a community bank in Miami and the former Southeast Bank.  

A long time South Florida resident, Ernie serves on the Orange Bowl Committee; He is immediate past Chair for The Beacon Council, Miami-Dade County's Economic Development partnership and a past chair of the Florida International University School of Business Dean’s Council. Ernie has also served as an Executive Board Member of the Latin Builder’s Association, and as Regional Judge for The White House Fellowship Program.  

Ernie earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Florida International University and a master’s degree in accounting from Nova Southeastern University. He is a licensed CPA in the state of Florida. Ernie and his wife Maggie have two boys, Ernie and Gabriel.
