Adam Newman is the Chief Risk Officer at TD Bank, America's Most Convenient Bank®. In this role, he oversees the risk management strategy and efforts in the U.S. and Anti-money laundering practices, fraud risk management, global security & investigations and compliance. Adam leads a team of risk professionals to drive a proactive risk culture for the company that reflects our corporate values, mission and strategy.

Adam most recently served as Deputy Chief Risk Officer. In this role, he led the bank's credit risk and operational risk management functions. Throughout his career at TD, he has held a variety of increasingly senior leadership roles for TD Bank Group, including 19 years at TD Securities, based in Toronto. During his tenure at TD Securities, he was responsible for global credit management including lending and counter-party credit activities. Adam also has experience in merger and acquisition financings, project finance, heading up the Canadian corporate loan portfolio’s past restructuring efforts and pioneering TD's in-house credit portfolio management and hedging practices.

He has over 30 years of experience in commercial and corporate banking, and risk management. Adam also spent time as a Managing Director & Partner at a Canadian private equity fund focused on distressed situations.

He holds a B.A. in Honors Business Administration from Western University, Ontario, Canada.

Adam is married with three children, is an avid skier and tennis player and enjoys spending time at his cottage with his family and friends
