Adam Newman is Chief Risk Officer for TD Bank, America's Most Convenient Bank®. In addition to Risk Management, he oversees AML, Compliance and Fraud Management.

Adam has more than 27 years of experience in commercial and corporate lending, risk management, as well as other credit related initiatives at TD. Under his most recent role as Deputy Chief Risk Officer, he was directly responsible for Credit Risk and Operational Risk for TD's U.S. Operations.

Adam is a member of TD Bank Group's Environmental Steering Committee and is Chair of its Environmental Risk Advisory Group.

Previously, Adam was the Chief Credit Officer for TD's U.S. operations for two years, and, prior to that, he was responsible for TD Securities' global credit management activities, including all of its lending and counterparty credit initiatives. TD Securities is the bank's broker-dealer and investment banking operations.

His experiences have included leading M&A and project finance initiatives, heading up the Canadian corporate loan portfolio's past restructuring efforts, and pioneering TD's in-house credit portfolio management practices. Adam also spent a year as Managing Director & Partner at a Canadian private equity fund focused on distressed situations.

Until his move to the U.S., Adam was a member of the Bridgepoint Hospital Foundation Board, Bridgepoint Hospital Finance & Audit Committee and Chair of the Bridgepoint Annual Classic Golf Tournament.

Adam holds a bachelor's degree in Honors Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario. Adam is married with three children, is an avid skier and tennis player and enjoys spending time at his cottage with his family and friends.
